The Suburban 180259 Burner Orifice meters the correct natural‑gas flow into the burner tube on the P‑40S furnace. Natural‑gas orifices are larger than LP orifices due to the lower energy content of NG, and the #30 size (≈11/32" drill equivalent) is calibrated specifically for the BTU output of the P‑40S platform.

This orifice should only be used on natural‑gas units. Installing it on an LP furnace would result in severe over‑firing and unsafe combustion.
