This Suburban 233383 Sail Switch is the OEM airflow‑proving safety switch used in Suburban RV furnaces. Before the furnace can ignite, the blower must generate enough airflow to lift the internal “sail” and close the switch. If airflow is weak—due to a failing motor, blocked ducts, or debris—the switch remains open, preventing ignition and protecting the furnace from overheating.

Because sail switches sit directly in the blower airstream, they commonly fail from dust buildup, sticking, or mechanical wear. Replacing a faulty sail switch often resolves “blower runs but no heat” issues.
