The 5238A Suburban SW6D is a 6‑gallon, 12,000 BTU/h RV water heater built for reliable hot‑water performance using Direct Spark Ignition (DSI). This gas‑only model eliminates the need for pilot lighting and provides fast, consistent recovery for showers, dishwashing, and daily RV use. Suburban’s steel tank with porcelain lining and anode‑rod protection delivers long service life and superior corrosion resistance compared to aluminum‑tank designs.
The SW6D is a direct replacement for many Suburban 6‑gallon DSI models and fits standard 12" x 12" cutouts. Its efficient burner assembly provides strong heat output while maintaining dependable ignition and stable operation across a wide range of RV applications. Designed for easy serviceability with accessible components and OEM‑grade construction.
PORCELAIN-LINED STEEL TANK SERIES
The Suburban glass-fused-to-steel process is comparable to residential tank water heater tanks, just a smaller size. Each Advantage water heater has a onepiece,
die-formed metal housing that protects controls from weather and a fitted copolymer heat retention jacket encloses the tank. With regular inspection and
continuing use of Suburban Extended Life Anode Rods, you may never need to replace your tank again.
