This Suburban 525003 Sail Switch Kit verifies that the furnace blower is moving enough air before ignition can occur. When airflow is sufficient, the internal “sail” lifts and closes the switch, allowing the ignition sequence to proceed. If airflow is weak—due to a failing blower motor, blocked ducts, or debris—the switch remains open, preventing ignition and protecting the furnace from overheating.
