8330-3101 Coleman Mach Room Sensor for Zone Control 9-Series RV Thermostat - Black

The 8330‑3101 Coleman‑Mach Room Sensor (Black) is the OEM remote temperature sensor used with select Coleman‑Mach digital and multi‑zone HVAC systems. It allows the thermostat or zone control box to read the room temperature from a more accurate location, improving comfort and preventing short‑cycling caused by heat sources, poor airflow, or thermostat placement issues. This black version provides a clean, modern look that blends well with darker RV interiors and upgraded trim packages.

Room sensors and Zone Control thermostats are available in matching black and white finishes:

Each zone beyond Zone 1 requires one sensor. Zone 1 also requires a sensor if the thermostat is not physically located in Zone 1. A four-zone system where the thermostat is outside all zones requires four sensors total.

9-Series and 8-Series Zone Control Components Are Not Interchangeable

The 8330-3101 sensor is designed specifically for the 9-Series Zone Control thermostat (9330A3341 / 9330A3351). It is not compatible with the 8-Series zone control thermostat or its components.

If your system uses an 8-Series zone control thermostat, the 8330-3101 sensor will not work with it. Confirm your thermostat's series (8xxx or 9xxx) before ordering. Upgrading from an 8-Series to a 9-Series system requires replacing both the thermostat and all associated control kit components — individual components are not backward compatible across series.

The Coleman Mach Zone Control 9-Series thermostat is a multi-zone digital thermostat capable of controlling up to four rooftop air conditioners or heat pumps and four zones of gas, hydronic, or electric strip heating from a single wall-mounted unit. Each zone requires a temperature reading to control that zone's heating and cooling — and this is where zone sensors are essential.

The thermostat has a built-in temperature sensor that can serve as the Zone 1 temperature reference — but only if the thermostat itself is physically located in Zone 1. If Zone 1 is in a different area of the coach than where the thermostat is mounted, a remote sensor must be connected to Zone 1 as well. For Zones 2, 3, and 4, a remote room sensor is always required — those zones have no built-in sensing capability.

The 8330-3101 is the black remote room temperature sensor for the 9-Series Zone Control system. It mounts on an interior wall — ideally approximately five feet above the floor — away from heat sources, exterior walls, vents, and direct sunlight for the most accurate temperature reading. Each sensor reports its zone's temperature back to the thermostat, which uses that reading to call for heating or cooling in that zone as needed.
